I think a few posts ago, I was telling you how happy I was with the Plantronics BackBeat PRO. If you want to know more on that click here. To understand this post better you could read the review of the PRO because the SENSE is pretty much the PRO just that it got a whole lot smaller. If you want almost everything that the BackBeat PRO offered but in a smaller package keep reading. I am not giving a detailed review of the SENSE because this pretty much covers all of it.
I have been using this headphone for more than 2 months now and I would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t want a big Bluetooth headphones like the SENSE’s bigger sibling the BackBeat PRO’s. Now if like me you want to get this over the PRO there are a few things you need to know and that it’s not all sunshine and audio; the SENSE doesn’t have:
- Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). It lacks this beautiful feature 😦 Now off the bat, you will immediately realize this when compared to the PRO. Not to say that the Sense is bad by any means. But after using a headphone with ANC using one without it is noticeable. So heads up on this.
- Battery Life isn’t the same. So like I said in my PRO review the headphones could last almost 24 hrs on continuous playback without ANC. The Sense on the other hand since it does have ANC it gives me around 16-17 hrs approx. but hey, for a regular user it’s great. I end up recharging this headset only once in a week or two.
DESIGN:Now other things you should know about these is that the Sense is much lighter than the Pro. The weight for me made a difference on the amount of time it stayed on my head and the amount of time I spend leaving it on.
SOUND:Both sound great really great for Bluetooth headphones but having the ANC and a full covering ear cup helps the PRO to sound a bit better than Sense. Just a tinge I feel.
FEATURES: Both the headsets have pretty much the same features only the way to access them has changed a little due to the size difference of the two. The PRO utilizes the big ear-cup size to add semi-jog dials to change songs on one and control volume on the other. The SENSE being the smaller one only had one ear cup to use as a volume rocker and the other features of Pause/Play, Next Song/ Prev. Song is rubber tactile buttons on the headphone. I prefer what the PRO did over the SENSE it could be the size that made it difficult.
PRICE: Both are pretty much in reasonable price ranges. I think they are great pricing considering what they offer in return. The PRO might be just a little more expensive over the SENSE but not much of a difference

So which one is for you? Well, that depends on your preference, If you need ANC and Battery life for a headphone is a MUST then the PRO is a great choice. If you don’t mind compromising on these two parts the SENSE is an almost perfect headphone for the price. So choose your poison dear friends. Cheers! Thanks for reading!
